The hardware upgrade: server romance
New hardware in the server hall, photographed by the staff. A month later: “Sthlm v8”. 90 pictures of love for metal.
Every new server was a little party. We photographed them the way other people photograph their children.
- The photo folders are named after the staff’s nicknames (TheQ, lumbus), not the servers.
- 2003: “LunarDatorn” (the Lunar Computer), all the servers together: 22 GB RAM, 78 GHz and 4,270 GB of disk.
- Led by Andreas Ödman, six new web servers were installed on 18 February and connected on 20 February. At the end of January Andreas and Jonny had installed new storage in Stockholm.
