“Someone at the other end”: priests on call
Daniel, a youth leader in the Church of Sweden, starts a support forum on LunarStorm: priests, youth leaders and psychologists answer young people who are struggling, bound by confidentiality and with no sales pitch.
It started with a few members talking about faith. It ended with priests staying up until four in the morning.
- Daniel wanted to be where the young people were, and that was on LunarStorm.
- Rickard described the initiative to the staff on 11 Feb 2004; by June the priests were acting as “on call”.
- During the tsunami 17, then around 30 priests, psychologists and youth leaders were on call until 4 am.
- The 2005 schools leaflet: a security department of six people; MotMobbningKlubben (the anti-bullying club) with around 14,000 members.
