Yipee ka ye kah: Rick's tracker song from 1994
Two years before Stajl Plejs, Rick makes music in the demoscene under the name Dwayne Wayne. The song Yipee ka ye kah is an eight-channel tracker module, made for the group Eclectic Underground on a stormy night, 11 October 1994.
Produced on a 486 with no hd and just a lousy mono-covox.
- A module is a song file in which the sounds themselves, the samples, are stored together with the notes. It is played by a tracker program, and the whole song takes up just 317 kilobytes.
- The song was made on a 486 without a hard drive, and the sound came out of a Covox: a simple sound adapter for the printer port, in mono.
- As in many modules of the era, there is a greeting in the sample names: ”eclectic presents”, ”produced by dwayne wayne-ecl” and ”-copyright 1994-”.
- The greetings go to Terrorizer of Reflex, Amigaspirit of Midgard, Rude Axe and Gretzky of Eclectic, Scott McPhearson of DTE, Slobo n Whale ”and my cat Sarah”.
- The song was released with a FILE_ID.DIZ, the description file shown when you downloaded from a BBS: ”Produced by DWAYNE WAYNE For ECLECTiC underground”.
