”The lovely community phreaks”: the crew takes shape
The front page in 2000 spells out who builds the site: Rick, lumbus, Jay, TheQ, Rude, Ken, bornie, steffoo, EvaE and more. Several of them were Stajl members.
I could finally recruit a few of the most hardcore Stajl Plejs members who were also skilled developers, so that I could make a lot of these ideas I had.
- Internet World summer 2000: ”The site is created by the community phreaks Rick, lumbus, Jay, TheQ, Rude, BARADDA, bornie, steffoe, lundwall, Ken and EvaE.”
- Svenska Dagbladet (SvD), a national daily newspaper, August 2000 (the front page): ”… Rick, lumbus, TheQ, Jay, steffoo, bornie, Fidden, EvaE, Skin and last but not least our mascot Bjarne.”
- Rickard in Hallands Nyheter (HN), the local paper in Varberg's region, 2000: ”The people who make LunarStorm must also be real freaks, who live to develop the community.”
- The staff wore T-shirts with their nicknames printed on them (HN week 19).
- A requirement for the staff: everyone had to have their own Lunar account, because ”if we make a decision the members don't like, you get to taste it in the guestbook” (Rickard 2016).
