The LUNARPARTY album
The compilation album LUNARPARTY (named after the site’s most popular chat room) is released with Bonnier Music and enters the compilation chart at number one in its launch week. Bert Karlsson calls, and he is not happy.
An angry Bert Karlsson rang me and asked what this LunarStorm thing was, and how on earth something like that could knock his dansband off the top of the chart.
- The members voted for the winners of the demo contest.
- Photos of the record (EXIF 2002-05-15).
- The working title was “LunarHits”; on 4 March Rickard suggested the name LunarParty, after the chat room.
- 17 hits and three demo songs voted in by the members. The release was pushed from 3 to 5 June after the power cut in Kista.
- Number one on the compilation album chart on 13 June 2002. Campaigns on NRJ, in the Stockholm metro with Åhléns City and on Gothenburg’s buses.
- Bert Karlsson rang Rickard and asked how LunarStorm could knock his dansband off the top spot.
